Engage inertial dampeners, because we’ve got some news for you: Star Trek Into Darkness will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and On Demand September 10, 2013 for your personal, at home perusal. And if you can’t wait that long, you’ll be able to download a digital copy of the film as early as August 20.
J.J. Abrams had this to say about the upcoming release:
I’m thrilled with how everything looks and sounds. We also have some really fun behind-the-scenes special features that we shot on the Red [Epic cameras] and created entirely in-house at Bad Robot. They really look amazing and unlike anything I’ve seen on DVD or Blu-ray before.
There will be making-of featurettes, of course, as well as interviews with Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch. There will also be a special segment, “The Enemy of My Enemy,” exploring the nature of the film’s true villain. You can already pre-order copies, so hop to it!
