Two more cast members have been officially confirmed for the Veronica Mars film. In private Kickstarter messages, Rob Thomas said that Percy Daggs III and Chris Lowell — Wallace Fennel and Stosh “Piz” Piznarski, respectively — will be joining the cast.
The confirmation of Daggs will be a relief for fans, because as Thomas put it “there was never a version of the script that didn’t include him. It just wouldn’t happen.” As Veronica’s best friend, Wallace, and his friendship with Veronica, was weaved into so much of what the show was about that it would have been a tragedy for it to not continue in this incarnation of Veronica Mars.
Chris Lowell returns to reprise his role as Piz, who was introduced in season three as Wallace’s roommate at Hearst College. His return may also give us another glimpse of those heart eyes for Veronica!
With these two added characters, the confirmation count is up to six: Veronica Mars, Keith Mars, Logan Echolls, Wallace Fennel, Piz Piznarski, and the waiter. But Thomas also gave a spoiler alert that the role of the waiter may no longer be a waiter.
More character confirmations should be rolling out this next week, and if the current cast list is an indicator of news to come, everyone else would just be icing on the cake!

I gotta admit, I was pretty “meh” about Piz coming back (especially since the vague plot outline of high school reunion doesn’t make sense for him), but his video message is so hilariously adorkable that I’m willing to see how it goes – as long as he isn’t a serious love interest for Veronica.
As for Wallace – couldn’t be more excited.
I feel the same way about Piz. I’d definitely rather have Mac confirmed for sure than him. It depends on what they do with him, I suppose. Her running back into him in an awkward encounter in Neptune could work.
Yay Wallace! It wouldn’t have been right without him.
