Insidious was the most profitable film of 2011, which means of course there was going to be a sequel. And now we have the first look at the film, in a truly creepy trailer that promises all the scares of the first.
The film takes place shortly after the original left off, after Josh (Patrick Wilson) has apparently been possessed after saving his son from “The Further.” Josh and Renai (Rose Byrne) take their children to live with Josh’s mother, Lorraine (Barbara Hershey), but it soon becomes clear that the spirits that have been haunting their family have followed them, and Renai realizes there is something terribly wrong with her husband.
In the interest of full disclosure, Lorraine’s home, which is the main location of the film was actually filmed at my parents house. I’m actually posting from inside the house now (wait, what was that noise?!). So I am just a little bit excited for this film as the trailer shows the house looking just stunning. Though I may never be able to sleep there again. O.O
Insidious Chapter 2 will premiere in the US on Friday the 13th of September.
