Captain America: The Winter Soldier is shaping up to be pretty S.H.I.E.L.D.-heavy. A four-member team of the organization has just been cast, including Jenny Agutter, who is reprising her role as part of the World Security Council from The Avengers. The other members will be played by Alan Dale, Chin Han, and Bernard White. They will be supporting Alexander Pierce, played by Robert Redford, who is the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. There are no further details at the time, but it sounds like the political thriller atmosphere Marvel promised us is certainly shining through the more we hear about S.H.I.E.L.D.’s involvement.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released April 4, 2014. What do you think about the latest casting? How do you think the S.H.I.E.L.D. of this film and that of the upcoming series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will co-exist? (As the Marvel-verse grows on screen, each one controlled by someone else, the more complicated things are getting to be!) Let us know what you think in the comments below!
I thought Nick Fury was the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.? In the movie-verse at least? Interesting. If they’re bringing in the Winter Soldier, it makes sense that SHIELD and the World Security Council would be all over that.
