Kristen Wiig returns to screens this summer in the indie film, Girl Most Likely. Starring Kristen Wiig, Annette Benning, Matt Dillon, and Darren Criss, the first official U.S. trailer was released on Thursday, May 2.
Girl Most Likely debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Summer of 2012, under the title of Imogene, and was later picked up by Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate. The film has been given a July 19 release date.
The film follows Imogene (Wiig), who after a fake suicide attempt, ends up living back at home with her mother (Benning), her mother’s new boyfriend (Dillon), and the lead singer of a Backstreet Boys tribute band (Criss), who just happens to be renting Imogene’s old room. Initial critic reviews from TIFF for Girl Most Likely were strong, particularly in favor of Criss’s supporting role in the film.
