The cast for Marvel’s newest superhero undertaking on screen is gradually taking shape. Michael Rooker, who you may know from The Walking Dead among many other things, has been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy as Yondu, a founding member of the Guardians. Yondu is a hunter from the Zatoan tribe from Centauri IV, the first planet colonized by humans outside of our solar system. Rooker has previous experience with the director of Guardians, James Gunn, starring in Gunn’s directorial debut film Slither.
Rooker will be joining Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer. Zoe Saldana is supposedly in talks to play Gamora, but I have yet to find any confirmation of this. If she does join, then that’ll be yet another massive franchise to add to her resume, so good on her!
