Coldplay releasing Mylo Xyloto comic for Record Store Day

Coldplay - Mylo XylotoApril 20th. Mark that date in your calendar folks. That’s ‘Record Store Day‘ this year. The day you’re encouraged to visit and actual record store (and no, we don’t mean Best Buy) in order to purchase your music the good old fashioned way. From a real live person who works for an independently owned (again, not Best Buy) store that sells music.

A lot of artists release special limited edition gems for the day, and Coldplay are contributing this year with a special comic book about their album Mylo Xyloto. They’ll make available the first issue of the comic strip alongside a 7″ vinyl picture disc featuring the tracks ‘Hurts Like Heaven’ and ‘Us Against The World (Live)’.

The series, several issues of which are already available on the bands website, was written by Coldplay with Oscar-nominated writer and director Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) and is to be published by Bongo Comics Group (owned by Matt Groening, Creator of the Simpsons).
