BBC America adds another new co-production to its list as the network announces it will produce a 7-part series based on Susanna Clarke’s best-selling novel Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell along with the BBC.
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell takes place in England during the Napoleonic Wars in a world where magic once existed, and is about to return. The series is set to premiere sometime in 2014 as part of BBC America’s Supernatural Saturday.
The 7 episodes, all 60 minutes long, will be directed by Toby Haynes (who has worked on Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Wallander) and are set to film in England and Canada this summer.
Eeeeee give it to me now!
If it’s good, that is. But I have faith that it will be; producing it as a series rather than a movie was the first smart step.
I have to admit I’ve never heard of the book, but am always looking for new audiobooks to listen to while I work. Would you recommend this then?
