While there has been plenty of news floating around about the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, things have been kept pretty quiet about the other upcoming addition to the X-Men film franchise, The Wolverine. As the sequel to a film that received mixed reviews, I can imagine why, but The Wolverine has a completely different director and set of screenwriters than those responsible for the lackluster X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so maybe they can turn it around. The first trailer has just been released and you can decide for yourself. Check it out below:
The Wolverine will be released in theaters July 26 (the movie, not an actual wolverine). So what do you think? Willing to give this one a try? Let us know in the comments below!
I’ve been leery of this film because cultural appropriation, but the trailer actually makes me feel better. It looks more just like Logan running around Japan doing mutant-related things, and less like “Logan goes to Japan and learns the secrets of the samurai!” So that’s good, though we’ll have to wait and see how the film handles it.
As to quality, still have no idea. It could go either way. I know that quick glimpse of Jean Grey isn’t riling me up as it’s probably supposed to, because the sudden fuzzy camera work makes it look like a dream sequence to me.
