Marvel’s Phase Two set of movies is underway with sequels to their previous films Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. But there’s also the newest addition to the set, Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s had rumors floating around for a while about who would be cast in the main role of Star-Lord, a half-human, half-alien who leads the Guardians. The casting is now official, and Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation fame will be leading the group of alien superheroes. Further details about the film are still unknown, and I have to say that I’m not particularly familiar with the story, but Joss Whedon gave his seal of approval for director James Gunn, so I’m on board.
Guardians of the Galaxy will make its way to theaters August 1, 2014. Are you looking forward to it? Wondering how they’re going to pull off a talking raccoon and tree person? Let us know in the comments below!
I know nothing about Guardians, including about talking raccoons and tree people, but if they can make it good, I’m all in. I’m really surprised they’re going with something so strange, but hey, it’ll be awesome if they can pull it off. I also know nothing about James Gunn aside from all that controversy that broke a few months ago, but hopefully he won’t be a jerk and that’ll all be good too.
