Q and James BondSkyfall, the latest James Bond outing, has made quite a name for itself so far. It became the highest grossing film ever in the UK in just 40 days after its release, and its theme song, sung by Adele, won a Golden Globe and has been nominated for an Oscar. Now Skyfall has been named “Film of the Year” at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards. Sarah Sands, editor at the Standard, said:

Thanks in part to the extraordinary success of Skyfall – a truly big British movie, delivered with a panache Hollywood could envy – 2012 also highlighted the creativity, vision and talent of a new generation of British film-makers, actors and actresses.

Here’s hoping that this is good news for more Bond adventures in the future! Skyfall will be released on DVD and Blu-ray February 12 in the US and February 18 in the UK. Excited about Skyfall winning? Looking forward to the DVD/Blu-ray release? Let us know in the comments below!
