According to The Hollywood Reporter, after Rosemary DeWitt quit the show earlier this month due to scheduling issues, Marcia Gay Harden has been cast to replace DeWitt in her recurring season 2 role. Harden, known for Into the Wild as well as TV roles on L&O: SVU, Royal Pains, etc., will be playing Rebecca Halliday, “a litigator who defends the fictional Atlantis Cable News channel when it becomes embroiled in a wrongful-termination lawsuit.” She will film the scenes DeWitt already shot and continue on with the HBO drama from there.
I’m still waiting to hear if Mr. Sorkin has hired any new female consultants for this next season, which will air June 2013.
