Poster And Plot Details For The Wolverine

If you were disappointed with X-Men Origins: Wolverine (weren’t we all), the upcoming sequel, The Wolverine, may be able to repair the damage slightly. Director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman did a recent Q&A about the film and gave out a few tidbits of what we can expect.

First of all, the movie picks up after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, so it’s not a prequel like its predecessor. Hopefully we’ll finally get to see how Logan deals with the loss of Jean Grey and all the other massive changes that occurred during Last Stand. The film will also explore his berserker rage, which prompted Jackman to build up even further for the role than he’s done before. Logan will also discover “his kryptonite,” as Jackman put it (let’s not start any DC vs Marvel fights here), so the super healing mutant might finally have a serious weakness. You can watch the Q&A below:

The first poster for the film has also been revealed, with a style referencing the film’s Japanese setting. Crossing my fingers that they don’t make this another white-guy-saves-foreign-culture movie! The Wolverine opens in theaters July 26, 2013.
