This Labor Day weekend, Marvel is re-releasing The Avengers for a whole week starting August 31 through September 6 to promote its coming to DVD and Blu-Ray next month. The official Marvel Facebook page has this enticing announcement along with a spoiler picture of a character revealed at the end of the movie:

Too bad the rumors of a Director’s Cut theatrical release appear to have been untrue. Still, might have to make a run to see this again, since the rest of the summer releases ended up being pretty disappointing.
Sadly for me, my one little local theater doesn’t appear interested in running this. If it was the Director’s Cut I might have driven the hour to the nearest theater to go see it again, but I don’t know. I did already see it 3 times in theaters.
