A bit of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 news: apparently the final installment will be the shortest of all the films, clocking in at eight minutes below Order of the Phoenix. From Digital Spy.
- ScreenRant has the Attack the Block red band trailer, a thus a better look into what to expect!
- Digital Spy has three articles about three separate casting announcements for The Hobbit: Benedict Cumberbatch at the voice of Smaug, Luke Evans as Bard the Grim, and Evangeline Lilly has a new woodland elf character named Tauriel.
- There’s a new big-screen version of Les Miserables being worked on (by The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper, no less), and names are already being bandied about. In particular, Hugh Jackman has been linked to the role of Jean Valjean, though at this point it’s only rumor.
- David Dobkin, the director best known for such comedies as The Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus, is looking to go into a new direction. His name has been linked to the King Arthur script which is currently causing a bidding war in Hollywood! From Empire Online.
Oh, man, Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean? And directed by Tom Hooper? This is good, good news.
Also, I just realized I’m still so excited that The Hobbit is actually happening that almost any news about it makes me excited, even though I don’t actually know how I feel about the new characters they’re adding.
We’re hoping now that Saiorse Ronan has said she’s not doing it they’ve cut the ridiculous elven princess they made up for her.
And I am also very very excited about Les Mis. I think I’ve seen that musical 4 times.
