SDCC 2019: Full trailer for Netflix’s The Witcher

The Witcher ANetflix has released the first full trailer for its upcoming adaptation of The Witcher book series. The streaming service will be making its first foray into the fantasy genre with this series based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski.

The Witcher follows the solitary Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill (the Man of Steel himself), a monster hunter who finds that humans may be more monstrous than the beasts. Although he prefers to be left alone, his paths cross with a powerful sorceress and a mysterious princess and all are thrown into a dangerous journey through the treacherous Continent.

The trailer released shows the epic potential of the series and its sheer ambition. There’s some impressive set pieces, some thrilling action, and even some elements of fantasy horror. The novels have a rich and intricate mythology which makes it perfect source material for a series of this magnitude. This looks like one show that may satisfy those with fantasy epic cravings after the end of Game of Thrones.
