‘American Horror Story: 1984’ Sets Premiere Date

It’s hard to believe that this Fall will be the ninth season of American Horror Story. For a horror series, it’s had an impressive run so far, with its fair share of hits and misses along the way. While Ryan Murphy and company usually like to keep fans in suspense over the content of the upcoming season, it seems like we know less about American Horror Story: 1984 than previous seasons. There’s been a teaser to evoke the 1980s slasher flicks, and Murphy has mentioned George Orwell’s book of the same title in passing on Twitter, so we’re all left to wonder if those two things will collide in some way. The cast announcements have been sparse as well, with the usual actors also left to speculate on what American Horror Story: 1984 is all about and if they’ll be a part of it. Unless, of course, they’re all keeping us in the dark on purpose. It’s a familiar tactic.

With filming scheduled to start this summer, at least we now have a premiere date to look forward to. While fans have previously enjoyed October releases just in time for Halloween for most American Horror Story seasons, it looks like American Horror Story: 1984 will be premiering in mid-September. Which still gives fans enough time to speculate and theorize whenever they decide to tease out more details about their ’80s slasher homage.

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on September 18th on FX at 10PM EST.
