WATCH: NYCC trailer for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power new posterThe first full-length trailer for the upcoming Netflix reboot of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power was released at this year’s New York Comic Con.

And it is magical.

A short teaser for the show was released last month with the titular She-Ra saying being summoned to a greater destiny. The series will be helmed by executive producers Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona) and Chuck Austen (Dawn of the Croods, Steven Universe). A new poster, featuring the whole cast, was also released ahead of the show’s airing on Netflix next month.

Here is the official synopsis:

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is the story of an orphan named Adora, who leaves behind her former life in the evil Horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into the mythical warrior princess She-Ra. Along the way, she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil.”

The trailer gives us a glimpse of the larger story of the series as we see Adora grow from being a Horde soldier into the hero who will save the world. We also get to hear from some of the other characters in the cast. Adora meets new friends as she explores the world while leaving behind her childhood friend and eventual rival, Catra.

She-Ra will be voiced by Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor), Glimmer will be voiced by Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Bow will be voiced by Marcus Scribner (black-ish), and Catra will be voiced by AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs). The series also stars Reshma Shetty (Royal Pains) as Angella; Lorraine Toussaint(Orange is the New Black) as Shadow Weaver; Keston John (The Good Place) as Hordak; Lauren Ash (Superstore) as Scorpia; Christine Woods (Hello Ladies) as Entrapta; Genesis Rodriguez (Time After Time) as Perfuma; Jordan Fisher(Grease Live!) as Seahawk; Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Mermista; Merit Leighton (Alexa & Katie) as Frosta; Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) as Castaspella; and Krystal Joy Brown (Motown: The Musical) as Netossa.
