SDCC 2018: First Full Trailer Released for M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Glass’

Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy, Glass is the official third film in Shyamalan’s Unbreakable trilogy following 2016’s Split. Also coming along for the ride are Split‘s Anya Taylor-Joy and newcomer Sarah Paulson as Dr. Ellie Staple. Following the release of a series of three teasers earlier this week, each highlighting one of the film’s leads, Universal Pictures has unveiled the first full trailer for Glass using San Diego Comic Con as its backdrop.

Based on the trailer we see that David Dunn (Willis), Kevin Wendell Crumb/The Beast (McAvoy), and Elijah Price/Mr. Glass (Jackson), have all been taken into custody in a mental hospital. Dr. Staple (Paulson) introduces herself as a doctor with a unique focus on people who think themselves to be extraordinary or superhuman. This element is definitely an odd, but interesting, way to link these three characters together. The film promises some more comic book elements including the villains, Glass and The Beast, teaming up allowing Dunn to eventually take them down and prove himself to be the hero he is.

Considering Shyamalan’s track record, there’s probably a lot more to this film than what we see in the trailer, including a twist that may hit or miss in terms of shocking audiences. Glass is set to release in theaters January 18th, 2019. Check out the full trailer below and feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.
