During the panel, executive producers Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery confirmed that the seventh season will consist of 13 episodes and will air on August 10.This is a return to the longer episode count of the first two seasons so it is sure to be a jampacked affair.

The first episode, entitled “A Little Adventure” was shown at comic con and it was about Team Voltron encountering a “small” problem as they stop at the planet Faunus to recharge their lions. The episode is now available on Apple podcasts at this link.

Furthermore, DreamWorks and Nerdist also announced the launch of an official Voltron commentary podcast called “Form Podcast!”, hosted by Nerdist associate editor Kyle Anderson and featuring showrunners, cast and crew from the series.

This new season will see the Paladins finally return home to Earth after several seasons of exciting, intergalactic adventures. But from the trailer, one can tell that this will not be a very straightforward homecoming and many trials and tribulations still lie ahead for our heroes.

The Voltron season 7 logline reads:

“Following Lotor’s defeat, the Paladins are finally able to set a course for Earth. After a long and perilous journey, they discover that their home planet is not how they left it.”

Among the highlights of the SDCC panel was the surprise appearance of Jeremy Shada, who plays Lance, and the hilarious impressions Rhys Darby (who plays Coran) made of a Yaltor. It was also confirmed that there would be “One Final Season” to come before the end of the year.
