HBO Films has released its first teaser trailer for their adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. While HBO previously had the film slated for a vague spring premiere, the trailer reveals that the debut will be sometime in May. Fahrenheit 451 stars Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) as the protagonist Montag, Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water) as Captain Beatty, and Sofia Boutella (The Mummy) as Clarice in this updated version of the classic dystopian tale about book burning.

The exciting new trailer gives us our first glimpses of these timeless characters in action within the sleek, futuristic society where they live. While it does feature the premise of book burning, the trailer also highlights the aesthetic-heavy setting with modern technology in a glittering metropolis where the media is everywhere. There’s some clues that the film will depart somewhat from its source material, but that’s to be expected with any kind of adaptation. Based on this first trailer alone and how relevant the story is right now, we’re hyped for that May premiere already.
