Tokyo Comic Con 2017: New Trailer & Poster Released for Upcoming Anime ‘Batman Ninja’

New Poster!

A brand new trailer and poster have been revealed at this year’s Tokyo Comic Con for the upcoming DC Comics feature-length anime, Batman Ninja. Initially announced in October at New York Comic Con, Batman Ninja is a combined effort from some of the top Anime creators working today. Directed by Junpei Mizusaki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), the film features character designs by Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai!) and a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima (Kill La Kill).

Batman Ninja takes the Dark Knight, as well as his allies and enemies, and sets them in feudal Japan, including Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Red Hood, and Two-Face among others. The film will feature the voice talents of Kôichi Yamadera (Dragon Ball Super) as Batman, Wataru Takagi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as The Joker, Rie Kugimiya (Gintama, Fairy Tail) as Harley Quinn, and Ai Kakuma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma) as Catwoman.

The story for Batman Ninja sounds a bit ridiculous, revolving around The Joker’s plot to rewrite the ancient history of Japan turning him into the “Devil King of the 6th Heaven, Lord Joker.” That being said, the animation looks immaculate and the film itself looks like it will be a very fun watch.

Batman Ninja is set to be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital platforms in 2018. We’ll keep you posted as more details on the film come through. In the meantime check out the trailers for Batman Ninja below and visit the film’s official site [link] for more info.
