Return Date and New Poster for ‘The X-Files’ Released

Not that much longer to wait, fellow X-Philes! TV Guide reports that FOX has announced that The X-Files season 11 will premiere on Wednesday, January 3rd, at 8/7c.

The ten-episode season follows 2016’s six-episode revival. As previously announced, we can expect a number of familiar faces to return as guest stars, including Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, and William B. Davis. We’ll also see Mitch Pileggi’s Assistant Director Skinner on the show, including a Skinner-centric episode in which Haley Joel Osment will also appear.

We’ve also already heard that this season will focus on Mulder and Scully’s search for their son, William. But other than that tantalizing bit of information, we don’t know much about what the plot will be. Considering that Gillian Anderson has stated her intention not to do more X-Files after this season, however, one can hope that the story line will wrap up in a satisfying way.

Check out the new poster – with a new tagline – below, and then let us know what you think in the comments. Then don’t forget to tune in when The X-Files premieres early next year on FOX!
