Game of Thrones season 7 release date confirmed

Game of ThronesHBO finally announced that Game of Thrones will be airing on July 16.

Earlier this week, an enigmatic teaser poster was also released. The final release date came through a live event on Facebook. With the anticipation growing for the seven episodes that will be airing this year, fans are eager to see any promotional material for the show, which will be airing later than it usually does. There are still so many stories that need to be told before we leave Westeros, and Game of Thrones will surely be picking up the pace in these last two seasons.

Davos Seaworth actor Liam Cunningham previously hinted that the show would indeed be returning in July and in an interview with IGN, he discussed what was coming in the season. He said:

“So when we’ve had all these, for all these seasons, disparate stories come from disparate ends of Westeros, it has been — and it’s been signaled from the end of last season — that there’s a lot of people and situations going to be coming together.”

He also talked about all the crazy fan theories he’s heard and how some of these might be on or off the mark:

“For a couple of years I’ve been hearing a theory that I think may be right, but I don’t want to go into it because it might be a spoiler, but I think they’ve worked it out. It’ll become pretty obvious soon-ish.”

Don’t miss the penultimate season of Game of Thrones on July 16 on HBO.
