Game of Thrones season 7 poster released

Game of ThronesStoking the fires of fans’ growing anticipation for the next season, HBO released a teaser poster of Game of Thrones, featuring the clash (or convergence?) of ice and fire.

Speculation has gone wild over what this poster might hint about the coming season. Since the book series by George R.R. Martin is called A Song of Ice and Fire, the poster’s design is no surprise. It could also be hinting at the impending clash between the dragons (led by Daenerys Targaryen) and the White Walkers (the Game of Thrones version of zombies.) One can also say that ice and fire refers to the cold, wintry North (whose king is the resurrected Jon Snow) and to Daenerys Targaryen herself, a queen descended from a house whose words are “Fire and Blood.” But what the poster truly means is anyone’s guess. One thing’s for sure, Game of Thrones season seven can’t come fast enough.

As previously reported, Liam Cunningham (who plays Ser Davos Seaworth on the show) hinted that the new season might air in July. He has since denied this claim.

Nevertheless, fans can’t help but get more excited for what is going to be the penultimate season of the epic drama. Only seven episodes this year, but these are sure to be jam-packed with events leading up to a truly amazing conclusion.

Game of Thrones will air this summer on HBO.
