NYCC 2013 – Reign – Interviews with the Creator & its Stars

Reign marks the CWs first foray into period drama, and takes what one might describe as a fan fiction approach to the story of Mary Stuart, the woman who would come to be known as Mary, Queen of Scots. It’s Gossip Girl in the 16th century. With period costumes that look like something you’d expect to see at a Medieval themed prom, and love triangles involving heirs to thrones and bastard sons, Kings and their mistresses, and a young lady in waiting. Throw in a little magic and mystery, and Nostradamous himself, and you have a recipe for a historic soap opera set to play with the story of the woman most will have heard of, but know little about.

We sat down with Show Runner Laurie McCarthy, and two of the young stars of the series, Toby Regbo (Prince Francis) and Torrance Coombs (Sebastian, the kings bastard) to find out what we can expect from Reign.

Reign airs on the CW Thursdays at 9pm EST/8pm CT
