BBC announces Doctor Who mini-series, Pond Life

Pond LIfe

So what is it like to have been a companion and then return to normal life? What is it like to have been through time and space and then live one day at a time sequentially? To continue life after experiencing The Doctor?

For those wondering what this life with all it’s sundry elements detail, wonder no more. Recently the BBC announced a new online miniseries taking place before the events of the premier of  Doctor Who season 7. It will follow Amy and Rory, played by Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill respectfully, adjusting to domestic life where the Doctor left them at the end of season 6.

Writer Chris Chibnall said:

Pond Life provides us with a lovely opportunity to catch up with Amy and Rory since we saw them at the end of the last series. It opens with them at home and gives us an insight into just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives. Travelling with the Doctor is one of the greatest things you can do, but it’s fun to spend a few moments looking at the chaos he can also bring.

Pond Life will go live online over a five day period starting Monday 27 August on the official Doctor Who website and the BBC One YouTube channel. Doctor Who season 7 will premier on Saturday 1 September on BBC One at 7:20pm

In the following videos from the BBC, Gillan and Darvill and Executive Producer Caroline Skinner and Show Runner Steven Moffat give us a little teaser of what we can expect from “Pond Life.”
