As a show that relies heavily on costuming, special effects, location, and a slew of other factors that pertain to the fantasy genre, HBO has decided to release a companion book that will give those interested a look into what goes into creating the unique and specific elements necessary to bring Westeros to life. Set to be released on September 25th, Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones will contain pictures and information about what exactly happens behind the camera. Two spreads from the book have been revealed to Entertainment Weekly, including a snippet of the section devoted to Daenerys Targaryen, and the preface by George R.R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series that the television series is based on.
In addition to the pages, you can delve further into what’s to come by checking out a preview video posted by HBO the other day. It includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with those responsible for making everything from Jaime’s sword, to Dany’s dresses, to the castles of Winterfell.
