First, we had the following image released by BBC America on their Doctor Who Tumblr Page.

And just a few hours later we got the first full trailer for the series (a teaser was released at The Doctor Who Convention back in March):
Now clearly, there’s a lot speculation that’s going to be happening now because wow, that’s pretty epic. We know Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and Arthur Darvill’s (Rory Williams) exit episode includes another face-off with the Weeping Angels, and Steven Moffat (Executive Producer and Show Runner) has told us that someone will lose their life – and he means it this time. But apparently even before we get to that epic showdown, we’ll be getting one with The Doctor’s ultimate nemesis, the Daleks – and as far as we can tell, it looks like The Doctor and The Ponds might be hitting Skaro, the Daleks homeworld (though that’s just our guess).
So a series full of dramatic exits for two very loved characters, Weeping Angels, Daleks, Dinosaurs, and the introduction of a new companion Moffat promises will be unlike no companion we’ve seen before? Doctor Who’s 7th series is shaping up to be one of the best yet.
How about a little speculation on just what’s happening. Hit us with your thoughts in the comments below.
Holy Photoshop! That’s my strongest takeaway, I’m afraid. There’s a lot in here to really make me feel things about the next season, and I am, but that’s messed up a bit by just how fakey, photoshop-wise, it looks. Like I compare it to the photos they released of The Doctor and his new companion, and they weren’t touched up much at all, and it looked so good. I know just given the nature of this they have to do more with it, but I wish they’d learn that less is more.
Well, at least dinosaurs are something Moffat hasn’t done over and over and over. It pains me to be so un-excited about Doctor Who – and I’m definitely going to watch it when it airs – but I am overall unimpressed, as I have been in general with Moffat as showrunner. Looking forward to more Matt Smith/Eleven and Arthur Darvill/Rory, for sure.
