Sky buys the rights to air US Holmes’ take, Elementary

Sky, the UK’s largest satellite provider, has purchased the rights to that countries airing CBS’ new crime drama, Elementary, a modern take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes.

The series sees Johnny Lee Miller taking on the iconic role of Holmes, who in this series is a recovering alcoholic living in New York City. After being forced to live with Lucy Liu’s Joan Watson after he leaves rehab, the duo team up to solve some of the New York Police Department’s most difficult cases.

There is no word yet on when the network plans to air the series, and what the delay between US and UK airings will be.
