  • So, we already know that Hugh Jackman is going to play Jean Valjean in the Les Miserables movie.  The movie is to start shooting in the U.K. in the fall; and Playbill Online reports that Jackman will be reprising his solo concert show when he’s got Sunday nights off from filming.
  • Multimedia 3D Hamlet: A Lost Generation opens in New York prior to a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.  Look for a rotating cast and some cool prerecorded cameos.  (Courtesy Playbill.)
  • From the Why Didn’t They Do This Years Ago? Department:  Disney is finally making a stage version of the musical Newsies.  Jeff Calhoun directs at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey for a September opening.  (Thanks again, Playbill.)
