  • This just in, Laurence Fishburne has opted not to renew his contract on CSI.  Guess it’s time to look for a new male lead.  From TVLine.

  • Russel T. Davies reveals a big spoiler about Torchwood: Miracle Day that will add a new twist to the series.  From Digital Spy.
  • It was confirmed on Twitter today that Doctor Who will be returning for a full 14 with current Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, and Steven Moffat is apparently happily writing the series now.   Although The Guardian claims there’s still no word on just how many of those episodes will air in 2012.  So maybe that rumor about 4 specials next year isn’t completely untrue.
  • Children and their families in the UK will get the chance to take part in their very own Doctor Who experience when Punchdrunk open an interactive and immersive theatre show in Salford on 30th June.  So if you’re a fan and don’t have kids, time to seek out those cousins or nieces and nephews, because Adults will not be allowed in without a child.  From BBC News.

  • Have any old tapes in your attic?  Know a hoarder who might have some rare Doctor Who footage in his stash?  Kaleidoscope are launching an appeal for people to search through their old collections to see if they might have any recordings, audio or visual, of old shows lost in the BBC’s video wipes.  From BBC News.
  • HBO has commissioned a new WWI era drama set in England, and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall.  The five-part mini-series, Parade’s End, starts production in the Fall.  From The Hollywood Reporter.
  • Filming next week begins on a new BBC Two drama series entitled White Heat, which will follow the story of eight friends over a forty year period as their lives are shaped by the changing world around them.  From the BBC Press Office.
  • Syfy have announced Defiance, a new science fiction epic with a twist.  It’s both a television series and an online MMO, and the events in one format will effect the other.  Yeah, we’d write it off if it weren’t for the fact that the genius creative mind behind Farscape, Rockne O’bannon, is at the helm and has been working with the game developers from the start.  Now we’re intrigued.  From blastr.
