The "Company" Company

  • Neil Patrick Harris to host this year’s Tony Awards — Looks like Dr. Horrible has already started making Spider-Man jokes.
  • Speaking of NPH, the New York Philharmonic’s production of Company, with a cast including Mr. Harris, Patti LuPone, and Stephen Colbert (!) is coming to a movie theatre near you — if you’re in the U.S. or Canada — this June.
  • Simon Russell Beale returns to New York this August for the U.S. premiere of Bluebird at the Atlantic Theatre Company (Off-Broadway).  (Courtesy BroadwayWorld.)
  • West End institution Dress Circle may have to shutter its Covent Garden shop and turn into a web-only operation.  (News from The Stage.)
  • Producer Sonia Friedman is hoping to bring Broadway hit Book of Mormon to London next year.  (From Playbill.)
  • Arthur Darvill (Rory!) will join the cast of Doctor Faustus at Shakespeare’s Globe this June.  (Courtesy What’s On Stage.)
  • And, for those who like their vampires old-school, L.A. Theatre Works will be recording for later radio broadcast (and web streaming) Dracula, with David Selby and Brits Ben Cross and Lisa O’Hare.  Live at the Skirball, May 18-22.
