  • BBC PromsThe BBC have announced that a record number of tickets to this years Proms have been sold in the first 12 hours; up 75% from last year.  Something you’d never see happen here in the States.  Classical music?  Not gonna happen.
  • Digital Spy have news on Google’s long awaited Music Beta announcement.  A cloud based service that will allow users to upload their music and stream it to all Android phones and tablets.
  • Arcade Fire and Cyndi Lauper performed the laters “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” on stage at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival over the weekend.  Digital Spy have a video.
  • Welsh band the Lostprophets have started work on a new album in Los Angeles.  From NME.
  • NME have audio of the first single from The Killers’ Ronnie Vannuccis‘ first solo album.
  • Tori Amos will be releasing a new classical album this September, which will be followed by a UK tour in November and tours in the US and Europe sometime after.  From NME.
